BSPD Teachers' Branch-Dental Education Research Prize 2026
The BSPD Teachers' Branch study day will run virtually on the Friday the 11th of December 2026.

Aim of prize:
The BSPD Teachers' Branch has introduced a new research prize category in 2025; the Dental Education Research. The aim of this prize is to reward recently completed (in the last 36 months) research related to education, teaching or scholarship in paediatric dentistry.
Entry criteria:
This new prize is open to all postgraduate students currently enrolled in a postgraduate paediatric dentistry programme as well as trainees and academics. Abstracts will be appraised anonymously by members of the Teachers' Branch (TB) Executive Committee and the TB Conference Abstract and Prize Committee representatives. Up to four entries, which best meet the entry criteria and standards, will be invited to present their research at the annual Teacher’s Branch Study Day. All presentations in 2026 will be virtual. They will have to prepare seven minutes oral presentation with three minutes to answer questions from the judges. The judging process will take into consideration the educational nature and impact of the project.
Submission and judging:
Entry is by submitting a complete abstract proforma to the BSPD Teachers' Branch Secretary via email: teachersbranch@gmail.com with a deadline of 1st of September 2026.
The abstract proforma will include the following details:
• Title of the abstract (word limit is 12)
• Name, affiliation, and job title of presenting author and co-author(s)
• Abstract text to include the following (word limit is 250, excluding Title, Authors and Affiliations);
- Background
- Aim
- Method
- Results
- Conclusion
- Name of any funding body, if applicable
