The Max Horsnell Travel Award
Value of award: £500
The British Society of Paediatric Dentistry has established this travel bursary to support BSPD members (excluding consultants and equivalent academic grades) who wish to present a poster or oral communication at scientific meetings of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry or the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry. Up to two awards of £500 will be available per annum.
For 2022, given the virtual nature of many confernces, we will support attendance at any relevant conference providing the work being submitted is relevant to paediatric dentistry. The award can be used to cover regsitration fees.
An abstract should be submitted electronically to the BSPD Conference Abstract and Prize Committee (CAPC) via the BSPD Administrator by 31 March of the year of the scientific meeting in question. The abstract should follow the instructions for the conference that is being submitted to.
Abstract submission form
Three members of the CAPC will judge the applications. Applicants will receive a reply from the Chair of the CAPC within six weeks following the award closing date. The winning entry(ies) will be sent their certificate and payment as soon as possible after this date.
If a winning abstract is not accepted for the proposed conference, or the applicant is subsequently unable to attend the named meeting, the Chair of the CACP must be informed and the award may have to be returned to the Society.
