The South East Branch of the BSPD invite you to attend the 2007 Annual Scientific Meeting to be held at the Savoy Place from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th September 2007.
The Methods behind the Madness
The South East Branch of the BSPD invite you to attend the 2007 Annual Scientific Meeting to be held at Savoy Place, London from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th September 2007. The conference aims to promote the best in British Paediatric Dentistry. An Evidence Based Dentistry (EBD) approach with particular reference to the role of EBD in Paediatric Dentistry, behaviour management and the continuing problem of managing first permanent molars of poor prognosis. In addition, the speakers will give us an insight into the diversity of issues related to the delivery of oral dental care for children from a UK perspective.
The objectives of the conference are to:

consider an Evidence Based Dentistry approach to making decisions related to provision of dental care for children

facilitate presentation of work completed by members of the BSPD and paediatric dentistry trainees
-
consider the management of first permanent molars in the short, intermediate and long term
-
understand the hierarchy of child patient management
-
reward excellence by the award of three BSPD prizes; Young Research Prize, Clinical Case presentation and poster presentation.

encourage networking amongst new and established BSPD members.

facilitate branch meetings and furtherance of the oral health of children in the UK.
The scientific sessions will include presentations of research and audit carried out by our members. CPD recognition has been approved. The Teachers' meeting will take place on Tuesday 11th September. This will be hosted at the BDA headquarters in Wimpole Street. The main meeting opens on Wednesday 12th September and will finish on Friday 15th September at lunchtime. The Friday afternoon session is set aside for the Consultants' Group to meet.

Conference Venue
Savoy Place, the venue for the scientific meeting, overlooks the River Thames. It is centrally located and minutes away from the Strand, the Theatre District and the West End. Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, Houses of Parliament, Westminster, St Paul's Cathedral and The London Eye are all less than a half a mile walk.

Airports London Heathrow Airport is 50 minutes by car or 40 minutes to Paddington Station by Heathrow Express. London Gatwick Airport is 1.5 hours away by car or 30 minutes to Victoria station by the Gatwick Express.

Railway Stations Waterloo/Eurostar is 5 minutes by car and Victoria Station is 15 minutes by car. Paddington Station is 15 minutes by car whereas Charing Cross Station is 5 minutes walk

Underground Several stations are in close proximity to Savoy Place. The Embankment Station, Temple Station and Charing Cross are all 5 minutes walk and Covent Garden is 10 minutes walk

Parking and Car Hire The nearest car park is The Savoy Hotel car park, The Adelphi Garage. Pre-booking is necessary. Additionally, there is an N.C.P. car park two minutes drive away in Drury Lane, Covent Garden. There is limited on-street parking available outside Savoy Place on metered parking bays. Should you wish to hire a car there are a number of local car rental companies in the area.
